Standards & Compliance
At Farm Safety Signs, all our safety signs are designed in accordance with the Australian Standard AS 1319-1994 “Safety Signs for the Occupational Environment”.
This standard sets out the requirements for safety signs in workplaces — defining how colours, shapes, symbols and wording should be used to clearly communicate hazard, mandatory, prohibition, emergency and fire-related safety messages.
Sign Classification & Use
Size Guide:
Signs should be large enough to view without straining the eyes.
When choosing the sign size you must consider the environment, lighting and viewing distance.
Recommended minimum sizes:
Sign in a work environment, where lighting is good and the sign will be mounted in a reasonably prominent position.
Pictorgram Size: 15mm per metre of viewing distance.
Text size: Upper Case - 5mm per metre of viewing distance.
Lower Case - 4mm per metre of viewing distance.
Signs in poor lighting conditions that are not likely to fall readily into the observer’s line of sight will need to increase the size by 50%
When you buy from Farm Safety Signs, you can be confident your signage is clear, durable and compliant — helping keep your property, workers and visitors safe.
